The book arrived on time and as described.The book itself gives plenty of fields for the basic recording of weapon identification for your own uses. It serves well for insurance purposes and to record your own inventory, how much you bought the weapon for and even a field for who you may have sold it to. It does a good job for these purposes.It does not leave a lot of room for notes or identifying features on the weapon, so for those who possess a lot of customized or unique firearms, this book may not work for them to record thier firearms.For me, it was exactly what i needed.

Perfect for what I needed. I liked the books layout enough I bought a another for my buddy

I found that it has a small problem which keeps me from giving it 5 stars: The binding is too stiff to allow it to lay open flat on a desk. I had it spiral bound at a local print shop, and it is now perfect for my needs This is the only criticism I have of the book. Otherwise, it's well thought out, and has space for 50 firearms.

I am in love with Sharon Lovejoy's books. I highly recommend them all.These are a collection of pretend-play ideas, outdoor discoveries, woodsy crafts, old fashioned games, and even some recipes that all help us meditate upon the forgotten luxury of simple living.Many of the activities guide you through the types of outdoor play you may have long forgotten since becoming a curmudgeonly old adult. I saw this wonderful book several years ago at a local garden center but had no reason to buy it. I recently ordered when I learned I was going to be a grandma. This book has great ideas for a grammy who loves nature, gardening and providing fun and unique experiences for their grandkids. It's 25 years since I've had a child under 5 so I've gotten out of the habit of creative fun. This book is a great guide.

Lots of excellent activities and ideas to encourage quality time with my grandchildren. Sharon Lovejoy reminds me how to think like a child again and see the world through their eyes, sadly something long forgotten for me.

My mom lives pretty far away from both of her grandgirls. She was ecstatic to receive this as a gift. It has tons of cute ideas including some fun things for grandparents to do when their grandchildren don't live near by. It is better for kids 5 and up but there are some cute ideas. For the baking/cooking ideas, the recipes are pretty easy to adapt for kids with food allergies which is always nice. I highly recommend this as a gift to give grandma or grandpa some cute, fun ideas on how to create a meaningful experience with their grandchildren when they come to visit.

Interesting ideas, helps for those who aren't as crafty in mind for little kids. Makes excellent gift for those new grandma's

I loved this book and best of all so did my granddaughters. One is 7 and one is 4 and they both looked at it and were very eager and ready to start several of the projects talked about in this book. Plus we all loved the illustrations.

Harry Davis has studied the art of Tasha Tudor for almost thirty years. As Tasha's friend and collaborator for the past decade, he initiated her landmark exhibition at the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Center in Williamsburg. Paper: Not acid-free. Binding: “Perfect”, i.e. signatures trimmed to single pages, then glued.Photographer Jay Paul has done a fine job capturing the moods of the two very expressive dolls made by Ms. Tudor, “Captain Thaddeus Crane”, (who looks like Henry David Thoreau), and “Emma Birdwhistle”. Also, atmospheric views of objects within the house, and, in a separate section, a selection from the collection in brightly lit photos.I like many aspects of the book design, but object to the diagram of the house with the room of the chapter shaded, useful as it is, taking a whole page at the beginning of each chapter. It could have been shrunk down to take the place of the four tiny unreadable photo details placed next to the restatement of each chapter title, leaving the facing page for another large picture or two. Also, I don’t believe in double-page spreads. The gutter down the middle ruins one’s ability to understand the picture. All of the full-room pictures are two-page spreads.But then, the rooms don’t have much architectural distinction. They are a group of restrained room boxes made to showcase the collection, not a model of a house that might draw away interest for itself. And being so large, already dominating the exhibition gallery as it reportedly did, it couldn’t be given full depth.The title of the book is a bit of a misnomer. It is not really Tasha Tudor’s dollhouse, but The Tasha Tudor Dollhouse At The Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Center, Williamsburg, Virginia. The house was specially built, with her collaboration, to display Ms.Tudor’s collection of miniatures, and, because the scale of the objects is “one-fourth human size”, not the usual dollhouse one-twelfth, (so the dolls must be nearly a foot and a half tall), the house was too large to go home with Ms. Tudor once the special exhibition “Take Joy! The World Of Tasha Tudor” closed, six months after the opening date Nov. 2, 1996.Harry Davis’s text states, “...over the course of more than seventy-seven years...the dolls have changed residences many times...one doll or another has left...to go with a grown child, perhaps to start another miniature version of a life…” “Since building Corgi Cottage in 1971, Tasha had not had a dollhouse large enough to house the entire collection. She had room settings in built-in cases along a wall adjacent to her bedroom.”Perhaps someday a book will come out detailing the history of Tasha Tudor’s family’s collections of miniatures, dolls, and the houses for them, past and present.The last four pages of the book are occupied by a chronological listing of Ms. Tudor’s books, 1938 to 1999, (she died 2008). It’s not the full biographer’s-researcher’s bibliography you’d find at the end of a biography, that would include her works outside of books, and articles about her in magazines and newspapers, but it is quite a nice thing to have.The text does mention a 1955 LIFE magazine article covering Thaddeus’s first marriage, to “Melissa Shakespeare”, the doll that inspired the book A Is For Annabelle. It may be seen in GoogleBooks. It was in the Sept. 12th issue, four pages of black and white photos by Verner Reed.

Love Tasha Tudor. Enjoyed this book about her dollhouse

The photos of the dollhouse are fantastic. It is a one-quarter-scale version of Tasha Tudor's own earlyeighteenth-century-style home in Vermont. Each room is a double page. Followed by pages of close-ups and descriptions. Wonderfully inspiring!

If you can't own an expensive doll house - get this wonderful book to pour over. Totally great!

Great reference book.

I saw this book in a store in Vermont while on vacation. I knew I wanted it. I have always been a fan of Tasha Tudor, even before I realized I grew up a couple of miles from her Vermont home. This book shows another side of her many talents and keeps alive the past for those to come.

A must have if you are a Tasha Tudor Fan. It is her life in the dollhouse with all the replica furnishings. Awesome.

Author seems to use secondary sources for her book: newspaper articles and other authors; work. She divides the book into periods but many of them overlap so the reader never gets a real understanding of what Bechtel was doing when. The author has an agenda in coloring Bechtel in the most unfavorable light: this corporate behemoth was bad because it was big. Little credit is given for the corporation's undertaking during the period of the Cold War when the US as a whole and in a bipartisan way was fighting Communism and when the CIA's actions were necessary. The most interesting part of the book and less biased part is the description of the corporation's early history and the founder's early endeavors.

I'll start by first saying that the book itself is enjoyable as Bechtel does keep a very low profile and is clearly a major player in this country's history at least as it pertains to construction.Where I have to slap the author down is in her many implications she makes whereby the tail is wagging the dog. Iraq War.... because Bechtel wanted rebuilding contracts. Tolerating Saddam in the 80s... because Bechtel wanted to build a pipeline. The list goes on, but long story short the author goes to great lengths to imply Bechtel is some sort of Machiavellian puppet master behind the scenes without flat out saying it. It's lying without lying and implying conclusions on an extremely thin basis.The author would've had a great book just telling the story of Bechtel. Her many implications of malevolent profiteering at the expense of the country rather than just a company selling its country the goods and services policy makers at the time wanted smack of yellow journalism.

While heavily researched, the author had a very clear anti-Bechtel bias, and focused on the items that reinforced that, and minimized other issues. The hyperbole style detracts from the message.

Not easy writing a book about a behemoth corporation that is family controlled and a closed book culture. If you think you know Bechtel, you don't. Ms Denton has an octopus far bigger than anyone imagines and she does a good job of getting her journalistic arms around this vast story. Anyone interested in the intertwining relationship between corporate America and government (on all levels state as well as federal) will find rich reading. "I never realized"...." I didn't know that" are frequent reactions even if you thought you knew.

Very good book.........you learn much about american politic.

An in depth exposition of how business and government have colluded to exploit other countries. Denton does a particularly good job connecting the dots between Bechtel and the deep state.

This is a truly fascinating story about how a company with a household name in the construction industry has survived almost a century with family members running it while amassing billions for doing things that the political elites in both parties wanted done around the world.
