About the Author

As a young man, Josh McDowell considered himself an agnostic. He truly believed that Christianity was worthless. This older edition is better than the newer edition written by Josh AND his son Sean, which, unfortunately, makes some logic skips albeit is easier to read -- skips that can make their defense or argumentation vulnerable. Used copies of The NEW Evidence That Demands a Verdict can be got at $6.00 a copy at Amazon.The one written with Sean DOES have it's place and is still also an excellent book. I have purchased, read, and used BOTH.

Very on point, very thorough. This book is written by a scholar who set out to prove that the Christian Faith was wrong, and ended up becoming a Christian himself, so it is very convincing. It covers a lot of philosophy and logic, so just forgive yourself if you do not understand every last word. I often have to read paragraphs several times and look up certain words on Google to be able to follow it all. But it is the ultimate book on how to defend the Christian Faith, so I just read a little bit of it as a compliment every time I read the Bible. I figure it will help my Christian growth as long as it is part of my Bible study and not used instead of Bible study. I highly recommend this book.

A fantastic dive into the truth of the Bible. If you are in to apologetics, this is an easy read that will give you more knowledge than you could ask for.

I was looking forward to reading this book to back up why I believe what I believe. It was popular when I was a high schooler 30 yrs ago. This is an updated version. It's taken me over a month to get through the first 4 chapters. Theres a lot of reading to even get to chapter 1. Its heavy, boring reading. Hard to stick with it. 800 pages should be cut down to about 100. Just get to the point. Then the average Joe could actually read and get something out of it. Too much bla,bla, bla.

This is a very, very dry read. But it isn't intended to be read like a book. It is more devoted to giving you information you can use to make your case, in writing papers, delivering speeches or sermons, even as a bibliographical reference for information in writing a book.Love it.

This is a book i would beg people from all walks of life to consider in order to make an informed decision about their beliefs and their souls!
